Experienced Instructional Designer and Project Manager
with a passion for education, healthcare, and technology.

Instructional Design

I've worked full-time as an instructional designer at a private company and a university, and part-time as an independent contractor for a private organization that supported public and private colleges and universities.

I currently work as a full-time instructional designer at Mural Consulting. In this role I design and develop technology-based and soft skills training materials with a heavy emphasis on eLearning.

As an instructional designer for the University of Arizona Office of Digital Learning, I supported Arizona Online General Education courses within the D2L Brightspace LMS. This included building HTML and CSS content, creating graphic assets, creating interactive videos using PlayPosit and Adobe Premier, creating eLearning content with Adobe Captivate, and building quizzes, rubrics, and discussion posts directly in the LMS.

In my contractor role, I worked for iDesignEDU, LLC building online and hybrid courses through Canvas LMS. My role involved building modules, quizzes, discussion boards, assignments, and rubrics within the LMS with CSS and HTML client-specific styling. I also supported faculty who hosted live lectures over Zoom with attendance reporting, download videos and editing to post for students who were unable to attend.

Project Management

I've worked as a Project Manager and Scrum Master, utilizing both waterfall and agile project management methodologies.

As an Implementation / Project Manager for HealthTrio, LLC I worked on internal company projects, existing client projects, and new client implementations. Internal company projects were usually geared towards infrastructure enhancement or new product development and used Scrum methodologies. As a Scrum Master I facilitated daily stand-up meetings, sprint planning meetings, sprint review meetings, and sprint retrospectives. Existing client projects were typically site restyles or feature updates and used a hybrid approach to project management. New client implementations consisted of complete portal implementation projects. New client implementations also used a hybrid project management approach. Early stages of the project follow a more traditional waterfall approach, but as we made our way to development and testing, the project evolved to an iterative / agile approach.

I previously worked as a Project Manager / Scrum Master at the University of Arizona in the College of Medicine Information Technology Services department. In this position I managed the implementation of a new learning management system. The project utilized Scrum and Kanban methodologies. Given this approach I acted as the Scrum Master by facilitating daily stand-up meetings, sprint planning meetings, sprint review meetings, and sprint retrospectives. Additionally, I worked with various stakeholders on defining requirements, mocking up feature screens, and creating training materials.

Graphic Design

In my free time, I enjoy learning new graphic design and illustration skills. I’ve designed several logos for various groups and businesses. Also, during my undergrad, I interned as the Lead Marketing Intern for LGBTQ Affairs at the U of A, where I had the opportunity to design flyers and advertisements for social and educational events.

Web Design

I also enjoy learning how to create websites and content using HTML and CSS. Luckily, I have been able to incorporate this hobby into my jobs! UI and UX design is also a new interest of mine. In my current jobs, I like to envision how the user experience could be improved by redesigning the user interface of products/features/apps or how to better design eLearning content.
